(May 10, Beijing) Heartbeat on the Edge – 10 Songzhuang Artists officially opened at Red Gate Gallery. Artists from Songzhuang and International art friends gathered at the 798 Art District to spend an artistic afternoon.
Curator Zhang Weilin introduced that the ten participating artists all come from places outside Beijing, with hometowns covering Xinjiang, Jilin, Jiangxi, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Hebei and other regions. They live and work in Songzhuang with pure artistic ideals. Having long-term experience in the international finance industry, Zhang Weilin intends to present these low-key and dedicated artists to broader audiences, especially overseas communities that follow the development of Chinese contemporary art.
Brian Wallace, founder of Red Gate Gallery, sent opening congratulations via video link from Australia. He remarked that 2026 marks Red Gate’s 35th anniversary, and he is proud that the Heartbeat artists are part of this celebration. Red Gate Gallery will launch a program featuring emerging artists from China and overseas.
Anwer Behtiyar, Uyghur artist from Yili, Xinjiang and representative of the participating artists, extended heartfelt thanks to all attendees in his ethnic native language.
The opening was warmly received and well attended. Works on display vary widely in style, theme and medium, attracting numerous foreign art enthusiasts in Beijing to view and appreciate them. Guests exchanged views in a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere, exploring new directions and opportunities.Heartbeat on the Edge – 10 Songzhuang Artists will run through May 31, 2026.

本次展览策展人张惟粼介绍：展出的10位艺术家均来自北京以外，籍贯遍布新疆、吉林、江西、内蒙古、山东、河北等全国各地，他们满怀纯粹的艺术理想来到宋庄工作生活。拥有多年跨国金融行业背景的策展人张维粼，希望将这些低调勤奋的艺术家们介绍给更多观众，尤其是关注中国当代艺术现状的海外群体。
（5月10日，北京）《边缘的中心——10位宋庄艺术家》群展在红门画廊正式开幕。来自宋庄的艺术家与中外艺术爱好者们齐聚798艺术区，共同度过一个融汇多元的艺术午后。
目前身处澳大利亚的红门画廊创始人布朗·华莱士以视频连线方式祝贺展览开幕，他提及2026年是红门画廊成立35周年，他非常自豪这些边缘艺术家们能够成为系列庆祝活动中的一分子。红门画廊还将推出了新的项目，旨在展示来自中国及海外的新锐艺术家作品。”
参展艺术家代表、来自新疆伊犁的维吾尔族艺术家白合提亚·安外尔用本民族语言向到场的观众致以质朴真诚的的感谢。
开幕活动氛围融洽热闹，现场人气高涨，展出作品的风格、题材和材质多样，吸引众多在京外籍艺术爱好者驻足品鉴。大家在轻松热烈的交流中，发掘着新的方向和契机。
