“Making their Mark” is a miraculous exhibition, for the artists in this exhibition are aware that they are deeply rooted in the art history of a terminating century, that their works arise from within the sustained doctrine of abstraction. Yet, from amidst the frameworks of their disparate cultures, these artists have managed to mine out formal vocabularies of abstraction from the almost bankrupt lode of visual art that are making major statements in art today.
