一排空着的小凳子,用卫生纸沾水后一层层的包裹起来,湿了的卫生纸皱皱巴巴的,有某种情绪。把它们挂在墙上一排,白白的和墙融为一体。上面的文字是从《英汉辞典》上剪下来的从我的角度出发很情绪化的句子,“这个女孩爱上了这个男孩”, 把椅子换个角度挂起来,包上纸,它变成了雕塑,而不是孩子们的凳子了,它们在等待着什么…
A row of empty stools, wrapped in tissue paper and covered with layers of water, the wet tissue paper is crumpled and has some emotion. Hang them in a row on the wall, white on white. 关于艺术家 About the Artist
Cai Yaling 蔡雅玲
1984年出生于山西,现居北京。
2007年 毕业于中央美院雕塑系第一工作室,获学士学位;2011年 毕业于中央美院雕塑系,获硕士学位;2023年 毕业于中央美术学院,获博士学位。
坚持呈现自己生活中的真实情感,并创造恰当的艺术形式。提取日常生活中有深切体会的词汇和话语,探寻日常材料与文字情绪相对应的雕塑形式。把女性成长过程中身体和心理被压制的体验和感知,自然的渗透在材料的处理方式中,勾勒出当代女性面对现实困境的耐力和抵抗,搭建起与大众的生活经验共情的基座。
近几年主要个展和群展有2023年“未烬”(上海誌屋)、2020年“贝壳里也许没有珍珠”(上海狮语画廊)、2020年“没关系?”蔡雅玲个展(广东美术馆),2022年“缓存在”第四届杭州纤维艺术三年展(浙江美术馆)、“北京之吻“(巴黎吉美国立亚洲艺术博物馆)、SOVEREIGN杰出亚洲艺术奖决赛入围展(香港会议展览中心Art Central),2021年“迪奥与艺术”(上海西岸艺术中心)、“世纪▪浪潮——2020海花岛国际艺术邀请展” (海南省海花岛博物馆)、2019年第十三届哈瓦那双年展(古巴哈瓦那大剧院)等。
入围2022年SOVEREIGN杰出亚洲艺术奖决赛、2020年SAP艺术大奖年度新锐艺术家奖、2019年艺术8中国青年艺术家奖、2018年“王式廓奖-最具关注奖”、2017年度“萊俪青年艺术奖”、 北京民生美术馆“民间的力量〞展览铜奖。
作品曾在德国柏林Kommunale美术馆、今日美术馆、民生现代美术馆、广东美术馆、中央美院美术馆、金鸡湖美术馆、合美术馆等机构展出。
被德国柏林Kommunale美术馆、广东美术馆、浙江美术馆、合美术馆等公共机构收藏。

Insist on presenting the real emotions in one’s own life and create appropriate art forms. Extracting words and discourses that are deeply experienced in daily life, we explore sculptural forms that correspond to the emotions of everyday materials and words. The experiences and perceptions of physical and psychological suppression during women’s growth naturally permeate the material handling, outlining contemporary women’s endurance and resistance in the face of real difficulties, and building a pedestal of empathy with the public’s life experience.
The main solo exhibition in recent years includes: 2023 Unfinished Herstory – Cai Yaling Solo Exhibition (ZIWU the Bund); 2022 There May Be No Pearl In the Shell (Lion Language Gallery, Shanghai); 2022 It’s okay? – Cai Yaling solo exhibition (Guangdong Art Museum); 2017 Strange Familiarity: Upstairs Realization – Cai Yaling Solo Project (Beijing Mingtai Space), 2011 The Power of Repetition (Central Academy of Fine Arts Passage Gallery), etc. The main group exhibitions in recent years includes: “Dior and Art” (Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning); “Century Wave – 2020 International Art Invitation Exhibition of Hailuhua Island” (Hailuhua Island Museum, Hainan Province); “The Art of the Century”. The 13th Havana Biennial 2019 (Grand Theater, Havana, Cuba); the 3rd and 4th Wang Shikou Award Young Artists Nomination Exhibition (Today Art Museum, Beijing), etc.
Major awards in recent years include the finalist of SOVERIGN Outstanding Asian Art Award in 2022, the SAP Art Award for Emerging Artist of the Year in 2020, the Art 8 China Young Artist Award in 2019, the Wang Shikou Award – Most Concerned Award in 2018, the 2017 Laili Youth Art Award” in 2017, and the bronze medal of “The Power of Folk” exhibition in Beijing Minsheng Art Museum.
Her works have been exhibited at Kommunale Art Museum, Berlin, Today Art Museum, Minsheng Art Museum, Guangdong Art Museum, Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum, Jinji Lake Art Museum, and Hefei Art Museum.
Collection: Kommunale Museum of Art, Berlin, Zhejiang Art Museum, Guangdong Art Museum, Hewlett Art Museum, Hanwei Art Museum, Shimenbong Memorial Park and other public institutions.
